Does Omaha Need a Gay Village? and WHY do you feel that way?

Yes!!!
Just moved from San Diego.
There we had Hillcrest and Northpark which was the urban core of San Diego with good food, art, music, and bars. I loved Hillcrest with all the great people and experiences. I miss my amazing gay friends and my lesbian posse.

In your opinion, What makes, or would make, Omaha a gay friendly city?

We need to embrace our identity and put our efforts into building a vibrant LGBT sceene. Put up some rainbow flags and give a nice FU to anybody that is homophobic. Woot. I've driven past soo many gay bars on levenworth. I had no idea because there wasn't a huge welcome that says....come into our bar all homos and straight allies. Start a queer artists collective and shake it up. Have some fun and make connections. This website is a great start.

Are you part of any GLBT organizations in Nebraska or iowa? If so, which ones?

No. Just moved in the last week and starting work soon.
The sports league sounds fun, so does Flixx (we had one in San Diego tooo but this one seems much classier)
